Dillinger
Four is an influential American punk rock band based in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Formed in 1994, the band has released four full length albums
including: Midwestern Songs of the Americas (1998) and Versus God (2000),
both on Hopeless Records; Situationist Comedy (2002) on Fat Wreck Chords;
and This Shit is Genius a collection of songs culled from compilations and
EPs. The band also released First Avenue Live, a live album recorded in
2003 and released by LSD Records (a tongue-in-cheek alias of No Idea
Records, who also released This Shit is Genius). Dillinger Four also
appears on numerous compilation CDs. The band has announced a new album,
tentatively titled C I V I L W A R, supposedly to be released sometime in
2007.
Earlier in their career they released several vinyl 7"
records, such as More Songs About Girlfriends And Bubblegum (on Mutant Pop
Records), The Kids Are All Dead and Higher Aspirations: Tempered And
Dismantled. Songs on the latter two records are available as part as the
aforementioned collection. Split EPs were also released with Pinhead
Gunpowder and The Strike.
Current members are Lane "Monkey
Hustle" Pederson (drums), Billy Morissette (guitar, vocals), Erik Funk
(guitar, vocals), and Patrick "St. Paddy" Costello (bass, vocals.) Funk
co-owns the Triple Rock Social Club, a popular bar and music venue in
Minneapolis.
